Join the Day Eight community for a reading of Poems of U. S. History published in the Mid-Atlantic Review selected by editors Carolivia Herron, Summer Tate, and Robert Bettmann. The special section of Poems of U. S. History was created to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Poems selected for publication voice figures and events in U. S. history.
The reading of Poems of U. S. History will occur Wednesday, July 1, 7-8:30pm over zoom.

The Mid-Atlantic Review is a literary magazine published by Day Eight. Recent special sections of the Mid-Atlantic Review published prior to the Poems of U. S. History special section include: Amplifying Disabled Voices, The Jewish Experience, and Celebrating Black History.

History special section were Carolivia Herron, Summer Tate, and Robert Bettmann. Carolivia Herron is a writer of adult and children’s literature, a scholar of African-American Judaica, a professor of Classics at Howard University, and an Advisory Editor of the Mid-Atlantic Review. Summer Tate is a poet and educator focusing on American and African American Literature. She received her MFA in Creative Writing from Fairfield University and is an English PhD candidate at Howard University. Robert Bettmann is the managing editor of the Mid-Atlantic Review and co-editor with Susan Meehan of the interfaith poetry anthology, Falling Leaves, published by Day Eight.
