Reflecting on the unique histories, traditions, and experiences of Jewish artists, in 2015, Day Eight’s founder, Robert Bettmann, created the Jewish Artists of the National Capitol Region. The group was formed to connect DC-area Jewish artists, with the hope of finding ways to co-support.

In 2019 the group received a small grant through the Ministry of Diaspora Affairs, Israel. Day Eight continues its Jewish Arts programming within the context of the Jewish Artists group.
