Day Eight and KIPP DC are partnering on Bring Joy Back to School, a Student and Caregiver Poetry Workshop and Performance to take place 3:00-6:00pm Sunday June 5, 2022 funded by the Flamboyan Foundation.

We are recruiting student and parent/caregiver pairs to participate now. Each pair will receive a $150 honorarium for their participation in the shared poetry workshop and performance.
Poet and master educator Regie Cabico will be leading the workshop with the participation of KIPP: DC staff Dr. Casey Catherine Moore and Patrick Wu.
The poetry workshop will take place from 3:00-4:30pm, and from 5:00-6:00pm the school community is invited to join the workshop participants in a performance of the poetry written during the workshop. Free food and drink will be provided, and this event will take place at the Anacostia Busboys and Poets.
