BRINK Party for the Arts Oct 29

This year the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities presents the 30th Annual Mayor’s Arts Awards on Thursday, October 29 at Lincoln Theater, starting at 7PM. All our friends in the creative arts, tech and media community are invited to a pre-gala cocktail party at BRINK, located just two blocks away at 1516 U Street, NW.

The happy hour starts at 5PM with boozy concoctions and special guests, including Fringe Festival founding board member and owner of Upshur Street Books, Paul Ruppert, and local poet Gregory Luce, who will be reading from his upcoming book, Tile. In addition to announcing the winner of the 2015 Day Eight Arts Journalism Competition, we’ll have a frightening photo booth, art and poster gallery, and trailers for our favorite indie screams on screen, courtesy of BRINKvision, our film distribution arm.

We’ll be holding a silent auction for original art from Michael Fischerkeller, a signed copy of Bourgeon, a special package of films and limited-edition prints. Proceeds will go to benefit Day Eight’s National Endowment for the Arts funded Arts Journalism project, and donations will be humbly, graciously accepted.

Invitees beware, you’re in for a scare!
