Thanks to support from EventsDC, Day Eight is pleased to offer two opportunities for aspiring writers: The National Arts Journalism Institute, June 21-25, and The DC High School Summer Writing Camp, July 26-30.
Confirmed faculty include Geoff Edgers (Washington Post), Peter Marks (Washington Post), Maura Judkis (Washington Post), Anying Guo (Washington Post), Peggy McGlone (Washington Post), Holly Smith (Washington Independent Review of Books), Ebone Bell (Tagg Magazine), Jonetta Rose Barras (The DC Line), Kelly McDonnell (freelance), Chris Kain (The DC Line), John Stoltenberg (DC Metro Theater Arts), Jason Cherkis (Huffington Post), David Siegel, Mark Lieberman (EdWeek) and Robert Bettmann (Day Eight).
A total of 12 early career journalists will be accepted into the Arts Journalism Institute, and 12 DMV high school students will be accepted into the Writing Camp. Applicants will be offered enrollment on a rolling basis, and merit and need-based aid will be provided (please note that the Writing Camp is FREE for high school students who are DC residents).
