2024 Youth and Faculty Poetry Book Launch Reading at Shepherd Park Library September 22nd

We’re pleased to invite the Day Eight community for an afternoon of celebration as we launch Day Eight’s 2024 youth and faculty book, Sunday, September 22nd, from 1:30-3:00pm, 2024, at the Shepherd Park Library, 7420 Georgia Avenue NW. This event will showcase the creative talents of young writers published in the book, including participants in Day Eight’s summer writing camp and year-round pre-professional writing program for women and girls.

Day Eight’s 2024 youth and faculty book features an array of poetry–80 poems by 55 poets–highlighting the voices of youth participants alongside writing by the faculty who guided them. Each child with writing in the book will have the opportunity to share a poem with the audience. This is an opportunity for young writers to celebrate their achievements and for families and the community to support their creative journeys. The book will be available for purchase at the event.
