Reflecting on the unique histories, traditions, and experiences of Jewish artists, in 2015, Day Eight’s founder, Robert Bettmann, formed the Jewish Artists of the National Capitol Region. The group was created to connect DC-area Jewish artists, with the goal of finding ways to co-support within a repressive and complicated environment for Jewish identification.
In 2019, the group received a small grant through the Ministry of Diaspora Affairs, Israel. Day Eight operates our Jewish Arts programming within the context of the Jewish Artists group. Read below for more about the group’s leadership and projects.
