Join the Day Eight community for a reading of poems published recently in the Mid-Atlantic Review, Thursday, November 12, from 6:00-7:30pm, at the Goethe Institut in Washington, D.C, located at 1377 R St. NW, 3rd Floor Washington, DC 20009. The space is accessed by elevator from the ground floor.
We’ll start off with a light reception, then transition into a reading hosted by Mid-Atlantic Review editors and including DC area poets published recently in the Review. This event is free, all are welcome, and space is limited; RSVP using the eventbrite HERE to confirm your spot!
Editors Robert Bettmann, Rebecca Bishophall, Jennifer Helgeson, Regie Cabico and Micki Topham will be hosting and poets reading include Jamilah Ali, Kelvin Bias, Angelo Brooks, Ellen Carter, Sunu Chandy, Sahar Choudhury, Donna Denize, David Ebenbach, Chris Fafard, Craig Flaherty, Brigittine French, Bliss Goldstein, Lenora Hay, Yael Kiken, Dianne Knox, Ruchel Limbos, Susan Mockler, Brittany Morgan, Abbie Mulvihill, Sophia Newcomb, Elena Okon, Richard Peabody, Lori Rottenberg, James Smith, Elijah Smith, Jeremy Stelzner, and Katherine White.
BRING YOUR BOOKS! This is a free event. To support the Mid-Atlantic Review we invite all attendees to bring any poetry or fiction books that you may no longer want as donations. The donated books will go on a big table at the event. For a $20 donation, you can then select any three books to take home. Bring a bag or box of books to support the 2026 print issue of The Mid-Atlantic Review!
All of the poets reading were published in the Review between March and September, 2026. While some were published through the ongoing open submission process, some of the poets reading were part of a recent special section, New Poems of US History, published in June and July, 2026, and selected by Carolivia Herron, Summer Tate and Robert Bettmann. Other poets reading were participants in Day Eight’s 2026 multi-community mindfullness in poetry project, made possible by grant from the DC Mayors Office of Community Affairs.
