Book launch reading for A Future Sea, an anthology of youth writing, October 19, 2025

Join the Day Eight community for an afternoon of celebration as we launch our new book, A Future Sea – 2025 writing by Day Eight youth and faculty, Sunday, October 19, from 1:30–3:00 pm at the Shepherd Park Library, 7420 Georgia Avenue NW. This event will include reading by youth and adult contributors.

A Future Sea includes 83 poems by youth participants alongside writing by faculty mentors from Day Eight’s poetry teams, women and girls writing program, and summer writing camp. Families, friends, and community members are encouraged to attend and celebrate the accomplishments of these young authors. Each contributor will receive a free copy of the book, available for pickup at the event, and copies of the book will also be available for sale. Please rsvp to Admin <at> DayEight.org.
